E-world energy & water 2018: focus on Smart City
Leading European trade fair with a key topic
Making cities more efficient, sustainable and technologically advanced will be a key challenge of the next years, but it also provides a wide range of opportunities for the international energy industry. Therefore, E-world energy & water 2018, the leading fair in the energy industry, focuses on Smart City – for the purpose of expanding the future scopes of this sector: E-world energy & water, taking place from 6 to 8 February, offers established companies as well as start-ups the opportunity to present themselves.
E-world is further developing and continuing its path to innovation. 710 exhibitors and 25,000 professional visitors made the year 2017 a record year. Among the attending companies, almost one fifth were businesses that are engaged in smart energy issues and a large number of young companies, universities, research departments and start-ups were presenting their products and services at the joint booth “E-world Innovation”. Many companies have already booked their booths for 2018 – including innogy, E.ON, Shell, Bosch, Engie, Siemens and Veolia.
Intelligent solutions for the smart city
Advancing digitization will change cities and metropolitan areas significantly: The main focus is on the integration of electricity and heat, smart buildings and e-mobility into one intelligent, flexible and optimized system. In order to find smart solutions for these challenges, E-world’s center of interest in 2018 will be “Smart City“.
There will be a varied program around the four key topics of mobility, heat, grids and buildings. A large number of talks and debates will provide occasions for presenting international, smart urban planning projects and initiatives and encourage discussions about practical solutions. The established forums Energy Transition, Smart Tech and Innovation will be complemented by a Finance & Trading forum.
A trade fair that supports young businesses
The ever-increasing number of international exhibitors, together with a professional visitor share of 98%, emphasizes the high standards and the outstanding significance of the trade fair as an information platform for the energy industry. Well-established companies just as start-ups present their innovative solutions at E-world – for example technologies for smart energy transmission and storage or the integration and interconnection of prosumers. Another focus of the fair is the support of young companies. The topic area “E-world Innovation” provides founders with the opportunity to establish contact with investors and representatives of the energy industry.
Renewable, efficient and intelligent
For years, one of the key topics of E-world has been Smart Energy. Accordingly, Germany’s largest area devoted to this topic is continuously growing and the number of exhibitors has steadily increased in recent years. Major topics are the effective contribution and management of the production, storage and consumption of energy as well as IT security and energy efficiency. In addition to exhibiting companies from the energy sector, industry and the IT sector, the joint booth concept also enables political representatives and associations to present themselves.
E-world Congress 2018
In 2018, the E-world Congress will again be part of E-world’s program. The congress deals with international and European energy industry issues. This year’s focal points will be the development of smart concepts for urban districts, sector coupling and smart heating systems. Further events deal with the international gas market and portfolio and risk management.
IT solutions, smart energy services and big data management are gathering momentum. For this reason, digitization is still a key issue. Events about smart energy services for residential and industrial usage and events about digital sales approaches complete the congress program. The E-world Congress raises relevant issues of the energy industry and provides a platform to discuss current questions.
